The Purple Prince Crabapple is perfect for you if you love purple! This classic tree blooms early and greets spring with rosy-red flowers. In the middle of spring, a lot of fragrant, bright rose-red flowers bloom from bright carmine-red buds. This is a truly amazing sight. The leaves turn purple soon after, and in the summer they turn deep purple and then bronze-green. In the fall, the leaves turn beautiful shades of gold. A lot of little maroon fruits stay on the trees through the winter, giving the season something to look forward to until birds eat them. Purple Prince grows quickly but doesn't split its stems. It can grow to be 18 to 20 feet tall and wide. Once it gets going, it can handle dry weather and is very resistant to disease. It even does well in cities! Great as a single tree or in groups for a big effect!
