Kodiak Black is a native bush honeysuckle with foliage that emerges near-black-purple, greens through summer, then flares burgundy-orange in fall, with small yellow trumpet flowers for bumblebees in between. It thrives in sun or dry shade, on slopes, in poor soil, basically wherever you put it. Three to four feet, no pests, deer-resistant, and nearly impossible to kill.
